The women of Mozaik have been singing and playing together for many years. With a shared love of folk harmony from around the world, they delight in making and sharing this music with their community.
ADINA SARA has been with Mozaik since its conception in 2001. A singer-songwriter, she produced three albums of original songs, and performed her music in folk clubs and festivals throughout the West Coast. For over 15 years she has participated in folk, jazz, classical and pop ensembles and also sings with Voci Woman’s Vocal Ensemble.
ELIZABETH STUART sings and plays percussion and accordion with Middle Eastern ensembles in the Bay Area, and has performed across the U.S. and in Europe with Jewish/world music ensemble Vocolot for over 20 years. She has performed live and composed and recorded original music scores fro modern dance productions in San Francisco. She has also performed, arranged, and composed for musical theater, rock, and new music genres.
HILARY MUSAJI is a Bay Area native who grew up singing in the California Christmas Revels teen and adult choruses. She attended UC Berkeley, and sang in and directed Cal’s student-led classical a cappella ensemble, the Perfect Fifth. After graduation, she moved to Santa Cruz and joined the Ariose Singers under the direction of Michael McGushin. Trained classically but in love with folk music, Hilary is currently exploring the Bay Area’s rich traditional music community, also singing with the Temple of Light Georgian Choir.
NATALIA UKRAINSKA is a native of Kiev, Ukraine, where she received a diploma in music and choir-conducting. She was a member of the Ensemble of the Border Guard of Ukraine, performing and touring as a soloist. Natalia emigrated to the US in 2005, and joined Kitka shortly thereafter. She currently sings in the Orthodox Church Choir of San Francisco.
Hailing from the Ukraine, ANASTASIIA NIKOLENKO is the graduate of an eight year music program and four year choir conductor degree in Kiev. In addition to conducting, Anastasia specialized in academic singing, choir singing and piano. She is thrilled to join Mozaik and explore its diverse repertoire of folk music from around the world
SANDY HOLLISTER has played percussion with Aswat, the acclaimed Bay Area Arabic music ensemble, currently sings with The Temple of Light Georgian Choir and has sung with One Voice Circlesingers led by SoVoSo members. She has performed with dance groups, bands and ensembles in the Bay Area and appears on Brenna MacCrimmon’s CD, “Kulak Misifiri”.
